INCREASE IN SCARLET FEVER

We have received notification from the Community Infection Prevention & Control team in relation to an increase in notifications of scarlet fever from Public Health England.  As per national Guidance on Infection Control in Schools and other Child Care Settings, children/adults with suspected scarlet fever should be excluded from nursery/school/work for 24 hours after the commencement of appropriate antibiotic treatment.  Good hygiene practice such as hand washing remains the most important step in preventing and controlling spread of infection.  If you have any worries or concerns please discuss with Management.

Please refer to the letter from Bolton Council for further guidance.
